The Serra de Monfurado and Atlantic Ocean influence the night temperature and, consequently, the terroir of Montemor-o-Novo (amplitudes up to 25º C). Considering there are mostly granitic soils, in addition to areas of SCHIST METAMORPHIC not, as well as soils of gneisses or related rocks and diorite. They are rarely found or coluviões alluvial soils. The vineyards are in heavy soils, slightly inclined to the South.

Soil Type: Mediterranean soils browns, and yellows of gneisses or similar rocks.
Sandy to clayey texture (Vgn, Pgn)
Growing area: 20 ha (vineyard)
Year of planting: 1988 – 1993
Predominant Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Sercial, Alvarinho
Soil Type: Mediterranean soils browns, and yellows of gneisses or related rocks; zone of silt.
Sandy to clayey texture. (Sb, Pgn, Vgn)
Growing area: 9 hectares (vineyard), 16.5 ha total
Year of planting: 1993 - 2003
Predominant Varieties Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Aragonez, Arinto, Viosinho, Gouveio/Verdelho
Soil Type: mediterranean brown soils of quartz-related cristalofílicas dioritos and rocks.
Sandy to clayey texture (Pmg, Pm).
Growing area: 22 hectares
Year of Plantation: 1999 – 2007
Predominant Varieties: Trincadeira, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Alfrocheiro
Soil Type: mediterranean brown soils of quartz-related cristalofílicas dioritos and rocks.
Sandy to clayey texture (Pmg, Pm).
Growing area: 20 hectares
